Children under 18 living in poverty in the USA, according the to National Poverty Center, account for 22% of the all the children in the United States. This is a huge number. It is approximately 16.4 million kids.

Living in poverty is a horrible place for adults, much less children. Our wealthy and out of touch politicians, of which the poster child these days is Mitt and Ann Romney, have not a clue to what growing up or living in poverty means. They have never worried about paying the rent and utility bills for a tiny one room or studio apartment. They've never had to think about what it would be like to choose which child gets to eat tonight. They've never had the horrible reality of listening to their children cry because the other kids at school make fun of them for wearing dirty, torn clothing, or shoes that don't fit. They've never had to pick which bill to pay when all three - electricity, rent, and water are due at once and your low paying job (kept low by the likes of the wealthy Romeny's and their ilk) only gives them enough to squeeze one at a time out of the pile each week or month. This is real FEAR that happens MILLIONS of American citizens every day in the USA.

Getting paid more for your minimum wage job would help of course. Being able to plan when you want to have the baby is another boon in the USA. Having enough money to pay for car repair would help your employment prospect. Health insurance - a luxury. All of these things can be connected in one way or another to lack of money. And those things are just the beginning. Add children. Every day mothers and fathers across America go to work and leave their children in the hands of a care worker and many times they have little choice but to pick the only one they can afford - fuck quality, just having one is the biggest thing for many. You work, and hope, that when you go to pick up your child they don't have a horror story to report, or worse.

This is what American poor go through every day. This is WORK, just trying to survive from day to day and HOPE you don't have an emergency that will surely bankrupt you. Every penny, every moment is allotted all the time leaving precious little left over for enjoyment. College? Further education? A dream that is out of reach for many, and if the right-wing conservatives like Romney get their way another generation or more will be trapped in poverty for their whole lives.

Knowing these things about American life is what made my neck almost snap when I heard the latest bullshit drop from Mitt Romney's wife's cake hole. Ann Romney, Queen LaQweefa, is taking umbrage at a comment made by Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen, who said Mrs. Romney had "never worked a day in her life."

Queen LaQweefa believes that her work, raising 5 children in a priviliged 1%er household, can be compared to the rest of the country. Queenie, your raising of 5 kids is fine, it's all well and good, but it doesn't hold a 5-cent candle to the MILLIONS of women who are raising children under horrific conditions that the GOP, the party of the priviliged, has inflicted upon so many in America. I mean, it's all well and good, but your little ass doesn't know a god damned thing when you compare it to people who HAVE TO WORK TO SURVIVE, and RAISE THEIR CHILDREN at the same time.

Hillary Rosen was right on target. I find it sad she felt compelled to apologize, but then the cowardice of Democrats and liberals is well documented elsewhere in this site.

Then the ultimate hypocrisy. Queen LaQweefa, member of a political party that has again and again attempted to remove rights of women to make their own decisions, rights of the LGBT community to make their own decisions, actually stated on Fox News "I think we all know that we need to respect choices that women make."

You fucking cunt. What utter crap. Why don't you tell your fucked up asswipe of a Ken Doll to stop working for a party that works AGAINST the ability of poor women to make decisions without being second guessed, chided, reprimanded or "corrected" by a power figure of some kind? If you honestly believed that women's decisions should be respected you'd slap that ridiculous smile off his face and you'd join a party that doesn't try to rape you with a vibrating stick (ultrasound probe) because they think women are too dumb to know what's going on down there. Your attitude is disgusting and I find it emblematic of a sick regressive backward political party that has sunk to the lowest of the low, and I can only hope the GOP goes into the long Winter quickly and never finds Spring.
