The Moss Bluff Elementary School in Louisiana is trying to save money, check for people scamming the system, and feed the poorest children who need help in their community. That's not a good thing to a contingent of Christian Luddites. We are of course talking about Louisiana, which is known around the world as one of the more backward of the US states, entrenched in Bible mythology and mania. Apparently the issue here is technology that is scary to the backward folks of the local "parish". Technology is scary if you're determined not to learn what it does and how it does it. Really. A car frightens some people while a bowling ball rarely does, if ever. So, the appearance of a hand scanner has literally scared the Jesus juice out of the more backward locals.
Everyone want to save money. Insuring precious resources goes to those who legitimately need it is important. So the school wanted to make it as easy as possible and planned to use hand scanners that match students veins in the hand - something that can't be cheated on like a card that can be passed around. They informed parents with a letter (the postal system is apparently low tech enough to not send the yokels screaming into the hills). According to the Huffington Post AOL site (full article here):
"While the letter notes that parents can opt their children out of the program, parent Mamie Sonnier told KPLC-TV that she was angry and disappointed by the program, as the scanner violates her beliefs. She contends that if the scanners actually make it to the school cafeteria, she'll be transferring her kids to another school.
Louisiana Mensa Member Mamie Sonnier, dumb as a bag of BP marinated clams, has her head spinning out of control with the "debil", and look out, because she knows "stuff".
"As a Christian, I've read the Bible, you know go to church and stuff," Sonnier said. "I know where it's going to end up coming to, the mark of the beast. I'm not going to let my kids have that."
Well Mamie, you fucking stupid piece of countryfried uneducable dumbass, THEN FEED THEM AT HOME. Solves the problems. With people like Mamie voting, there is no wonder why Louisiana is as fucked up as it is and why the USA is heading down the crapper. Unable and unwilling to educate themselves because they know "bible stuff", this stupid bitch would rather see our taxdollars wasted or her children starve. Fucking dumbass is all i can say concerning this kind of person. Keep teaching creationsim LA, it can't make your citizens any dumber or less able to compete in the future.
